Montclair Football Stars Score Big in Business

Two Montclair State University football players are set to shine at Commencement 2024 as they both receive undergraduate degrees from the Feliciano School of Business. Nicholas Burgess and Cameron Siebert will be receiving their Bachelor’s degrees in Business Management and Accounting, respectively, before returning to campus to pursue their MBAs.

Nicholas Burgess, known as “Agent 0,” shared that while football is a passion, his ultimate goal has always been to obtain an MBA and work in finance. Burgess, who was named NJAC’s Academic Athlete of the Year, expressed his dedication to his academic pursuits, saying, “I’ve always wanted to get an MBA, regardless of the timeline.” He credits his success to hard work and determination, a sentiment echoed by those who know him well.

Burgess’s time management skills and commitment have not gone unnoticed, with his football teammate Mason Murdock admiring his ability to balance numerous responsibilities. Burgess, reflecting on his journey, stated, “I’m always searching for more things to accomplish. My biggest thing with that is just being intentional. Everything I do has to allow for my goals.”

On the other hand, Cameron Siebert, the first in his family to earn a college degree, opted for the 4+1 MBA program at Montclair. Siebert, who aspires to venture into project management or sports management, was commended by Associate Business Management Professor Te Wu for his excellent performance in class.

Despite their busy schedules, both Burgess and Siebert are recognized as committed leaders, with Coach Mike Palazzo praising their dedication and leadership qualities. Palazzo emphasized the importance of education and job readiness, stating, “To get these guys to graduate and get a degree and get a job.”

As these two football stars prepare to mark this significant milestone in their academic and athletic careers, they serve as inspirations for their team and future Red Hawks, embodying the values of hard work, dedication, and time management.
